Everett Glenn is an american comics artist and cartoonist. After his studies at the Cleveland School of the Arts, and his years in New York and Japan developing his artistic work as a cartoonist and painter, he is today based in Berlin, where he continues to work on his „hidden autobiography“ in his comics series „Unsmooth“, published by Floating World Comics. Visually, „Unsmooth“ comes at us as an action-packed, satirical crime comic, combining the 80ies new wave vibe of the „nouvelle ligne claire“ from Franco-Belgian comics with the „adult animals“ style of Ralph Bakshi’s infamous animated films of the 70ies. But looking more closely, it is as much a „crime story“ as William Burrough’s „Naked Lunch“. In parallel, he nurtures his new and quickly growing career as a gag cartoonist for the legendary magazine The New Yorker, marrying their classic style with his very own, contemporary vibe.
When he is not hunched over his drawing board, which is in fact digital, the always immaculately dressed Everett Glenn may be found somewhere in the mysterious world of Menswear.
