Communications Management (MKO)

Communicate tomorrow

We look forward to welcoming committed students who want to shape the communication landscape of the future together with us - freely according to our motto "communicate tomorrow".

Why study with us?

The world of media and communication is developing rapidly. Recognising communicative challenges of the future and developing innovative solutions for them - that is the teaching and learning goal of the Master's course in Communications Management (MKO). This strong practice-centred orientation towards the future distinguishes this degree course from other advanced training courses in the field of communication. It deals with topics that are already appearing on the horizon in the practical world, but are not yet standard in organisations. Access to these topics is gained through science oriented towards practical application.

In addition, Hanover offers excellent access to numerous well-known companies. Internships, student traineeships or theses can be ideally combined with the degree course in this way.

Course contents

Established and new scientific concepts, methods and models from essential areas of communications management are taught with a view to the motto of the “Communicate Tomorrow” degree course. These include society and reference or interest groups, technologies, law or company management. But scientific contents such as theories of communication and social science methods or language in communication are not neglected either. They are all a basic prerequisite for reflective work in the field of communication. However, the point of reference here is always PR practice.

Students have the opportunity to design visionary communication strategies - mostly virtually according to their own ideas, but also in individual cases for concrete clients from business, associations and classic non-profit organisations. Novel and cross-media solutions are expressly encouraged. As a "development laboratory" for the communication of tomorrow, we place great value on individual creativity in addition to market relevance.
