Media Design (BME)

Unity in diversity

Smartphones, portable game consoles, netbooks - digital means of communication have long since become part of our everyday lives. Even TV and cinema films are hardly imaginable without the use of digital media. In the meantime, computer-animated cartoons as well as new digital cinema 3D technologies are expanding our previous viewing habits as a matter of course. While in the print sector it is now the case that no picture is published without a prior digital general revision, the demand for high-quality videos on the Internet is also increasing immensely and despite all this progress we are only at the beginning of a development.

The entrance requirement for the course is demonstrated by the general university entrance qualification, the subject-related university entrance qualification, the entrance qualification for universities of applied sciences, the matriculation examination or a previous education recognised by the Ministry of Education and Cultural Affairs as being of equal value.

This course always starts in the winter semester. Proof of a special artistic aptitude is required for all degree courses of the Department of Design and Media.

For this purpose, samples of work must be submitted directly to the Department of Design and Media by 15 March together with the application for admission to the artistic entrance examination. After reviewing the samples, the university will inform all applicants whether they will be invited to the practical examination. The practical examination takes place in May and lasts one day. Good to know: You can take the entrance examination up to two years before you start your course.
