Photojournalism and Documentary Photography (BFO)

Study photography in Hanover with a practical orientation

If you want to belong to the best of the best, you also have to study with the best. With the only photography degree programme in Germany with a journalistic focus, the Hochschule Hannover – University of Applied Sciences and Arts (HsH) stands out from its competitors. The entrance requirement for the course is demonstrated by the general university entrance qualification, the subject-related university entrance qualification, the entrance qualification for universities of applied sciences, the matriculation examination or a previous education recognised by the Ministry of Education and Cultural Affairs as being of equal value. This course always starts in the winter semester. Proof of a special artistic aptitude is required for all degree courses of the Department of Design and Media. For this purpose, samples of work must be submitted directly to the Department of Design and Media by 15 March together with the application for admission to the artistic entrance examination. After reviewing the samples, the university will inform all applicants whether they will be invited to the practical examination. The practical examination takes place in May and lasts one day. Good to know: You can take the entrance examination up to two years before you start your course.
