"Interior design is more than colour design and furnishing. What is taught is the creative handling of spaces and buildings under the aspects of conversion, protection of historical monuments and energetic renovation."

The admission requirements for this programme are general matriculation from secondary school, a subject-related qualification for admission to postsecondary education, an advanced technical college certificate, an Immaturenprüfung (an examination for those without the regular qualification for admission to postsecondary education) or proof of previous education recognised as equivalent by the Ministry of Education. The study programme always begins in the winter semester. Proof of extraordinary artistic aptitude is required for all study programmes in the Department of Design and Media. Therefore, your motivation outline must be submitted with the application for admission to the artistic entrance examination no later than 15 March. Upon review of these submissions, the University will inform all applicants whether they will be invited to a practical exam. The practical exam will take place in May and take one day. Good to know: You can take the entrance exam up to two years before starting your programme of study.
